It was 1975, when Rock and Soul first opened it's doors in the heart of New York City.

While we started out as an electronics store, we quickly turned our focus to records as the center of the DJ scene took root in Manhattan.

We've been selling records ever since.

As one of the only places in New York to buy vinyl (at one point, anyway) Rock and Soul found among it's customer base some of the most influential and up-and-coming DJs, always on the look out for the latest music to be released. To satisfy their growing need for DJ equipment, turntables, needles, and gear we gradually expanded into equipment, and almost by chance found ourselves as one of the very first full blown DJ stores in the world.

Today, after more than 34 years at the center of "all things DJ", we're as committed as ever to being the premier DJ Equipment and Record Shop in New York City and abroad.
